[vc_row][vc_column][vc_custom_heading text=”TECH SECTION” font_container=”tag:h1|text_align:left” use_theme_fonts=”yes”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_custom_heading text=”The shock body must be threaded at least 30MM or more (diameter of the shock body) into the lower mount:” font_container=”tag:h3|text_align:left” use_theme_fonts=”yes”][vc_column_text]For safety and to prevent failure and breakage of the item, the shock body must be threaded securely into AT LEAST 30mm of length OR MORE inside the lower mounts. If the shock body is not threaded into the mount enough, it may not have enough support for the weight of the vehicle, and therefore; it may become unstable and possibly break.

Our coilover kits allow for 2 way customization on ride height, without having to affect the pre-load on the vehicle. To adjust the height, simply thread the shock body into the mount to the desired height with zero pre-load.

When threading the shock body into the lower mounts, please pay close attention to how far it is threaded into, or out of the mounts. It is possible the shock body can thread all the way through the mount, and conflict and cause damage to the CV Boot of the drive axle, resulting in expensive repair costs and wasted time[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_custom_heading text=”Installation Notes:” font_container=”tag:h3|text_align:left” use_theme_fonts=”yes”][vc_column_text]PROFESSSIONAL INSTALLATION HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

DO NOT ADJUST THE DAMPER KNOB BEYOND THE SOFTEST SETTING, DOING SO MAY DAMAGE THE COMPONENTS OF THE COILOVER:

Our damper kits have 15-way dampening adjustability. To reset the damper adjustment settings, turn the adjustment knob to the HARDEST setting (Clockwise) until it stops. This is the HARDEST setting. Now, turn the adjustment knob towards the SOFT setting (Counter-Clockwise) 7 clicks. This is the AVERAGE/NEUTRAL setting between the hardest and softest settings for the suspension. Since these kits have 15 levels of adjustment, the zero or neutral adjustment setting will be at 7 clicks TOWARDS SOFT, FROM THE HARDEST SETTING. If you turn the knob towards the SOFT setting 7 clicks from the neutral setting, you will end up at the SOFTEST setting. DO NOT TURN THE KNOB ANY MORE IN THE COUNTER-CLOCKWISE DIRECTION FROM THIS POINT.

WARNING!! There is NO STOPPAGE of the adjustment knob AFTER the softest setting, and if over adjusted, it can possibly damage the item and void your warranty. The best way to adjust these kits would be to start from the HARDEST setting, and work your way towards the SOFTER settings. This will also ensure that you will get the best dampening out of your suspension while adjusting it to your preferred comfort level. It is very important to not OVER-DAMPEN or UNDER-DAMPEN your vehicle, as this can have a negative impact on your vehicles’ handling characteristics.

DO NOT OVER TIGTHEN THE UPPER MOUNT NUT WITH AN IMPACT WRENCH, THIS MAY RESULT IN DAMAGES TO THE COILOVER ASSEMBLY.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_custom_heading text=”The damper kit may produce some noise due to the nature of your car’s suspension, this is normal.” font_container=”tag:h3|text_align:left” use_theme_fonts=”yes”][vc_column_text]Due to many cars nowadays having used a McPherson Strut Suspension, rather than a Double-Wishbone Suspension, the coilovers may produce some noise on your vehicle. McPherson Strut assemblies will rotate the entire assembly when the steering wheel is turned, while Double-Wishbone suspensions do not rotate the shock body.

Rattling and clunking noises can also come from smaller parts not being tightened correctly or from parts getting loose from poor maintenance. Usually RE-TIGHTENING and RE-GREASING the item will help alleviate the problem, but is NOT a permanent fix. If you feel your coilover is making a different type of noise, please contact us so that we can help instruct you to diagnose the noise.

Coil bind noises are usually NORMAL for vehicles using a McPherson Strut Suspension. Usually the sound is heard when navigating through a parking lot, or in a low speed area that requires lots of movement of the steering wheel. The sound is usually described as a “springy” sound, due to the springs being compressed, and unable to move freely when rotated. This causes the spring to bind and eventually the energy being released will cause the sound from the spring twisting back into its original orientation.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_custom_heading text=”Pre-Load” font_container=”tag:h3|text_align:left” use_theme_fonts=”yes”][vc_column_text]We recommend the coilovers to be installed with zero pre-load, meaning the springs are slightly compressed, and assembled snug, with no space or gaps between the spring and upper and lower perches. You can check this by measuring the spring when it is sitting on the perch with a gap, and then tighten the assembly and re-measure the spring. The spring should be approximately the same length as it was when it was sitting freely. DO NOT add pre-load onto the spring UNLESS you know EXACTLY what you are doing and the consequences of it; doing so will VOID YOUR WARRANTY.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_custom_heading text=”Coilover Damper kits are wear and tear items:” font_container=”tag:h3|text_align:left” use_theme_fonts=”yes”][vc_column_text]Even OEM shocks and components will not last the lifetime of the vehicle, and usually last about 50-60K miles under normal use. Our shocks and struts are wear and tear items as well, and depending on use, may need to have parts replaced/maintained over time so that the whole suspension is working together uniformly. If you have any questions or doubts as to whether or not a part on your kit is defective, please contact us as soon as possible so that we can help you diagnose any issues.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][/vc_column][/vc_row]
